The invention provides a differential lock control method, a vehicle control unit and a medium, and relates to the technical field of vehicle control. The method comprises the steps that the current state of a differential lock rocker switch and vehicle state information are obtained, and the vehicle state information comprises one or more of the motor rotating speed, the steering wheel rotating angle, the accelerator opening degree and the wheel slip rate; according to the current state of the differential lock rocker switch, differential lock control modes are determined, and the differential lock control modes comprise an automatic control mode, a manual control mode and a closed state mode; according to the vehicle state information, whether a locking condition/unlocking condition corresponding to the differential lock control mode is met or not is determined; and if the locking condition/unlocking condition corresponding to the differential lock control mode is met, the locking operation/unlocking operation of the differential lock is executed. According to the method provided by the invention, the damage probability of the differential lock is reduced, and the control accuracy of the differential lock is improved, so that the use requirements of users are met.
