The invention is suitable for the technical field of automobiles, and provides a vehicle braking method and device, an electronic control unit and a vehicle. The method comprises the steps that when an electronic mechanical braking system of the vehicle has a fault, the fault type is determined; based on the fault type, determining a braking mode of the vehicle; and in response to the vehicle braking instruction, a cooperative regenerative braking system of the vehicle is controlled based on the braking mode, so that braking of the vehicle is achieved. According to the method, when the electronic mechanical braking system breaks down, braking of the vehicle can be achieved through an existing cooperative regenerative braking system of the vehicle, no mechanical device needs to be additionally arranged, and therefore the cost is reduced, and the complexity of the braking system is reduced. Meanwhile, according to the method, the braking mode of the vehicle can be flexibly determined based on the type of the fault in the electronic mechanical braking system, so that flexible control over the cooperative regenerative braking system is achieved, the control accuracy of the cooperative regenerative braking system is improved, and the braking success rate of the vehicle is increased.
