Methods and systems are provided for determining a plurality of traction limits corresponding to each of a plurality of wheels of a vehicle and determining a ground torque request. The ground torque request is assigned to each of the plurality of wheels based on the plurality of traction limits. If a ground torque request for a first wheel of the plurality of wheels exceeds a traction limit for the first wheel, a torque of the first wheel may be reduced and an increased torque applied to a second wheel of the plurality of wheels.
