The invention relates to a cooling architecture for low-temperature and superconducting power systems using on-board liquid hydrogen and a method for managing the cooling temperature of power system components. The cooling architecture includes at least one heat exchanger configured to transfer heat from the first fluid to the second fluid. The first fluid of each heat exchanger may be liquid hydrogen (H2), and the second fluid of each heat exchanger may be gaseous helium (He), liquid neon, or liquid nitrogen (N2).
