The invention discloses a self-adaptive fault-tolerant control method for a driving system of a distributed driving electric vehicle, which is based on a vehicle dynamics model considering partial failure of a motor and is used for tracking an ideal sideslip angle and an ideal yaw rate by calculating additional lateral force and yaw moment of the distributed driving electric vehicle in a driving process so as to ensure the stability of the distributed driving electric vehicle. And then, the additional lateral force and the yaw moment obtained through calculation are optimized to calculate the braking torque increment of each wheel, and the braking torque increment is applied to the distributed driving electric vehicle to achieve fault tolerance. According to the method, the requirements of stability control, real-time performance and the like when the driving system of the distributed driving electric vehicle breaks down are improved to a certain extent.
