A driving assistance apparatus according to the present invention may comprise: a radar which is provided on a vehicle, has a detection field of view toward the outside of the vehicle, and provides object data; and a control unit that recognizes a distance from the vehicle to an object in the vicinity of the vehicle and a moving speed of the object on the basis of a processing result of the object data. The radar may include: a plurality of transmit antennas; a plurality of receiving antennas; and a signal processor that provides the transmission signals to the plurality of transmission antennas such that the plurality of transmission antennas transmit the plurality of transmission radio waves, the signal processor obtaining the plurality of reception signals received by the plurality of reception antennas. The signal processor may perform a two-dimensional fast Fourier transform on each of the plurality of received signals, and may determine an angle of the object based on a position of the object; a phase corresponding to an angle of the object may be subtracted from the plurality of received signals, and a phase difference between the plurality of transmitted radio waves may be identified based on the plurality of received signals from which the phase is subtracted.
