The invention relates to a hydraulic retarder control method and device, computer equipment, a storage medium and a computer program product. The method comprises the steps that if the hydraulic retarder is in a first operation working condition, the control air pressure of the hydraulic retarder is adjusted, and the real-time liquid filling rate of the hydraulic retarder is monitored; the first operation condition corresponds to a first rotating speed and a first braking torque percentage; if it is monitored that the real-time liquid filling rate is consistent with the standard liquid filling rate of the first operation working condition, the first control air pressure of the hydraulic retarder is determined; updating the target mapping data according to the first rotating speed, the first braking torque percentage and the first control air pressure; and when a control request is received, the hydraulic retarder is controlled according to the control request and the updated target mapping data. By the adoption of the method, the control parameters of the hydraulic retarder can be self-learned in the using process of the vehicle, the problem that the braking torque is reduced due to loss of parts of the hydraulic retarder is solved, and the accuracy of constant-speed control over the hydraulic retarder is improved.
