The present invention relates to a fluid type retarder, comprising: a rotor unit connected to a drive shaft of a vehicle and rotated together with the drive shaft; a stator unit which is fixedly installed opposite to the rotor unit; and a contact increasing unit formed on at least one of the rotor unit and the stator unit, and increasing a contact area with a working fluid to improve a braking force. Thus, a weight of the fluid type retarder can be reduced. An objective of the present invention is to provide the fluid type retarder which improves braking efficiency.

    본 발명은 유체식 리타더에 관한 것으로, 차량의 구동축과 연결되고 구동축과 함께 회전되는 로터부와, 로터부와 대향되어 고정 설치되는 스테이터부와, 로터부와 스테이터부 중 어느 하나 이상에 형성되고 작동유체와의 접촉 면적을 증대시켜 제동력을 향상시키는 접촉증대부를 포함하여, 유체식 리타더의 중량을 저감시킬 수 있다.
