The invention provides an electric vehicle, a system and a method for charging the electric vehicle. In another exemplary embodiment, a system for charging an electric vehicle is disclosed. The system includes a first battery sub-pack, a second battery sub-pack, and a processor. The processor is configured to determine a selected battery sub-group for charging from the first battery sub-group and the second battery sub-group based on a comparison of a first state of charge of the first battery sub-group and a second state of charge of the second battery sub-group, and connecting the selected battery sub-group to a corresponding one of the first charging port and the second charging port.
