The invention relates to the technical field of vehicle control, in particular to a vehicle control method and device and electronic equipment. The method comprises the steps of determining a first target vehicle and a second target vehicle on adjacent lanes according to the distance between the vehicles when the vehicle exits from a self-adaptive cruise vehicle following state; acquiring driving state data of the vehicle, the first target vehicle and the second target vehicle, and respectively acquiring inter-vehicle distance data between the vehicle and the first target vehicle and between the vehicle and the second target vehicle; and if the driving state data and the inter-vehicle distance data meet a first preset condition, the vehicle is controlled to be switched to a slow acceleration state. According to the technical scheme provided by the invention, the acceleration of the vehicle after exiting the self-adaptive cruise vehicle following state can be limited, the sense of safety of a driver is improved, and the collision and rubbing risk is reduced.
