The invention discloses a thermal runaway protection system and method for a power battery, and belongs to the technical field of battery management. Comprising a battery pack connected between a positive electrode end and a negative electrode end of the vehicle-mounted terminal system; a plurality of refrigeration freewheeling units; a plurality of analog front-end chips, wherein each analog front-end chip is connected in parallel with a set number of battery cells; the first end of the control unit is connected with the analog front-end chip, the second end of the control unit is connected with the refrigeration follow current units and the battery management unit through a relay control bus, one end of the control unit is connected with the control unit, and the second end is in communication connection with the vehicle machine system; and the high-voltage management unit is connected with the battery management unit. The technical scheme has the beneficial effects that in the early and middle stages of thermal runaway of the power battery, internal self-cooling can be started, the risk of thermal runaway is reduced, a power supply can be provided for an external cooling system, and internal and external dual cooling is realized; the power-off protection device is simple in structure and easy to implement.

    本发明公开了一种动力电池的热失控保护系统及方法,属于电池管理技术领域;包括电池包,连接于车机系统的正极端和负极端之间;多个制冷续流单元;多个模拟前端芯片,每一模拟前端芯片与设定个数的电芯相并联;至少一个控制单元,第一端连接模拟前端芯片,第二端通过继电器控制总线连接多个制冷续流单元,电池管理单元,一端连接控制单元,第二端与车机系统通信连接;高压管理单元,连接电池管理单元。上述技术方案的有益效果是:在动力电池热失控前中期,能够启动内部自降温,减少热失控风险,能够对外部冷却系统提供电源,做到内外双重降温;减少电源突然断电造成的损失,结构简单,较容易实现。
