The invention provides a blind spot detection system and method for a vehicle and a storage medium. In one embodiment, a blind spot detection system for a vehicle includes one or more sensors configured to detect movement of the vehicle, a memory including instructions, and a controller, the controller is configured by the instructions to: predict an impending sharp turn of the vehicle based on receiving one or more signals from the one or more sensors; adjusting the detection range from the first setting based on the prediction; and returning to the first setting of the detection range when the vehicle terminates the sharp turn.
