The invention discloses an engine target torque calculation method and a generator target torque calculation method. The comprehensive performance of a hybrid electric vehicle is improved. The engine target torque calculation method comprises the steps of obtaining a driving mode and operation parameters of a vehicle, wherein the operation parameters comprise a first working condition parameter and a second working condition parameter; if the driving mode is a series mode, judging whether the vehicle is in a first preset working condition according to the first working condition parameter, and judging whether the vehicle is in a second preset working condition according to the second working condition parameter; if the vehicle is in the first preset working condition and not in the second preset working condition, outputting a first target torque matrix corresponding to the first preset working condition; if the vehicle is in the first preset working condition and in the second preset working condition, outputting a second target torque matrix corresponding to the second preset working condition; if the vehicle is not in the first preset working condition and in the second preset working condition, outputting the second target torque matrix; and determining the target torque of the engine according to the currently output first or second target torque matrix.
