The invention relates to the technical field of panoramic look-around, and provides a control method and device of a panoramic look-around system based on radar. The method comprises the steps that the real-time vehicle speed of a target vehicle is acquired; determining the starting distance of each detection radar corresponding to the target vehicle according to the real-time vehicle speed; monitoring the real-time radar distance of each detection radar; the real-time radar distance is the nearest obstacle distance detected by each detection radar; and when any real-time radar distance is not greater than the corresponding starting distance, starting the panoramic looking-around system and displaying a corresponding view. The starting distance used for judgment under the current condition is determined through the real-time vehicle speed of the target vehicle, then the real-time radar distance is monitored, whether the condition that the real-time radar distance is not larger than the starting distance exists or not is judged, and if yes, the panoramic looking-around system is started and the corresponding view is displayed; different judgment conditions are set for different scenes according to the dynamically-changed starting distance, the specific use requirement of a user for the panoramic looking-around system is met, and the user experience is improved.
