The invention relates to the technical field of ship equipment installation, and discloses an FPSO (floating production storage and offloading) moon pool structure building method, which comprises the manufacturing of a moon pool lower cylinder, and comprises the following steps: 1, marking and positioning the lower cylinder and an upper cylinder, and arranging a jig I; 2, inversely manufacturing a lower cylinder body; 3, sand blasting; 4, scribing and positioning the lower sliding ring and arranging a jig frame; 5, assembling the lower sliding ring and the lower cylinder body; 6, turning over and hoisting; an upper lifting lug is welded to the position, corresponding to the lower barrel, of the lower sliding ring, and hoisting and overturning are conducted to enter a total assembly jig frame; 7, assembling the lower sliding ring and the upper cylinder body; and 8, checking after assembly.
