The invention relates to the field of engineering machinery, in particular to an engineering machinery storage battery electric quantity control system which comprises a storage battery used for supplying power to a whole machine; the power management module is provided with a plurality of input ports and output ports, and is used for distributing the current of the output ports and limiting the maximum current of the output ports; the key switch is connected with the input port of the power management module and used for waking up the power management module; the seat pressure switch is connected with an input port of the power management module and used for detecting whether a driver is in a driving position or not; and the electric appliance is connected with an output port of the power management module and is a complete machine power consumption element. A battery electric quantity control method comprises the following steps that (1) a power management module transmits current to the power management module, (2) a key switch awakens the power management module, and (3) the power management module opens a corresponding output port to supply power to an electric appliance. By means of the system and method, the situation that a vehicle cannot be started due to the fact that the electric quantity of a storage battery is exhausted can be avoided.
