The invention belongs to the field of artificial intelligence, and particularly relates to a traffic flow prediction method based on a residual network, and the method comprises the steps: constructing a traffic flow prediction model which comprises a data input module, an external feature extraction module and a spatial feature extraction module; acquiring information data of a to-be-predicted place, and inputting traffic data into a data input module for splitting to obtain traffic flow data at key time; inputting external data into an external feature extraction module to obtain external features; after the external features and the critical time traffic flow data are fused, a fused feature map is input into a spatial feature extraction module for traffic flow prediction, and a prediction result is obtained; according to the method, a new data division strategy is used, and historical traffic flow data are used more effectively.
