According to the underwater pipeline laying ship suitable for continuous work, a J-shaped pipeline laying method is adopted, and pipelines with short lengths are spliced together end to end on the ship to form a pipeline assembly; the pipe assembly is shipped and subsequently transported to a pipe laying arm arrangement that splices the guide pipe assembly end to end to a pipe underneath the vessel that has been in the laying process. The invention provides a very efficient and fast pipe laying operation, which can be monitored from a control station on the vessel.
