Systems and methods may provide unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) connection detection and location reporting. A method implemented by at least one processor includes: receiving a location report from a first server indicating a location of a UAV; receiving a lost connection report indicating a loss of connection with the UAV; receiving a connection recovery report indicating that the connection with the UAV has been reestablished; and sending a location update request to the first server based on the received connection recovery report.
