The invention belongs to the field of traffic planning, and particularly relates to a taxi parking area delimiting method based on passenger-carrying hot spots and POI data, which comprises the following steps: preprocessing taxi GPS data, extracting getting-on and getting-off events, clustering the getting-on and getting-off points through a DBSCAN algorithm to obtain the passenger-carrying hot spots, crawling the POI data near the passenger-carrying hot spots, and determining the parking area of a taxi according to the POI data. According to the method, a POI type with a large proportion is selected as a passenger-carrying hot spot type, a fixed parking area is arranged in an area with more travel demands according to the travel demands of taxies, and the method considers the travel demands of travelers to different destinations at different times and factors in the aspects of urban traffic jam caused by random parking of the taxies. A fixed parking area is arranged for travelers, traffic pressure can be effectively relieved, and the coordination relation between the travelers and urban traffic is fully considered.
