The invention discloses a telescopic leg type underwater lander with a buffering and releasing function, and belongs to the technical field of ocean engineering. The underwater landing device solves the problem that an overall frame structure is prone to being damaged in the underwater releasing process of an existing underwater landing device. Comprising a main frame body, a communication device, a release device, a loading block, a control cabin, a battery cabin, a plurality of telescopic leg devices and a plurality of buoyancy barrels, and the buoyancy barrels are fixedly installed on the upper portion of the main frame body. The loading block is directly hoisted at the bottom end of the releasing device through the chain and located below the main frame body, when the lander makes contact with the seabed, the loading block makes direct contact with the seabed firstly, the chain part serves as a buffering distance, and the main frame body or the telescopic leg device is effectively prevented from making direct contact with the seabed to cause structural damage.
