The invention provides a blind area car following control method and device, equipment and a medium. The method comprises the steps that when a vehicle enters a blind area, the estimated safety distance between the vehicle and a front vehicle is obtained according to the dynamic minimum safety distance between the vehicle and the front vehicle, the safety time and the current speed of the vehicle, and the front vehicle is the vehicle running in front of the vehicle; according to the actual distance between the vehicle and the front vehicle and the estimated safety distance, the speed change distance of the vehicle is obtained; if the speed change distance is larger than zero, a distance weight factor is obtained according to the actual distance and the estimated safety distance, and the expected speed of the vehicle is obtained according to the distance weight factor and the vehicle speed of the front vehicle, so that the vehicle is controlled to run according to the expected speed. According to the method, blind area collision-free car following can be achieved, and automatic driving safety is guaranteed.
