A system, method, and apparatus for vehicle positioning. The vehicle may include a data processing system ("DPS") including one or more processors and a memory. The DPS may receive sensor data from a sensor of the vehicle. The DPS may identify a historical road spectrum of a ground surface for a first location of the vehicle. The DPS may generate a current road spectrum of the ground. The DPS may determine a lateral deviation of the vehicle. The DPS may determine a match between the historical road spectrum and the current road spectrum at a second location aligned with the lateral deviation. The DPS may provide an indication of a current location of the vehicle as the second location.
