The invention relates to a computer-implemented system (100) and to a corresponding method for monitoring functional capabilities of an automatic driving function of a vehicle, wherein the automatic driving function uses sensor information from at least one sensor (2). The system (100) comprises at least: a. A software model (10) of the automatic driving function, b. A sensor performance model (20) of the at least one sensor (2), c. A sensor monitoring module (31, 32) which determines performance parameters and monitors the performance of the at least one sensor (2), d. An updating module (41, 42) for updating the at least one sensor performance model (20) based on the determined performance parameters, and e. A data processing module (30) for processing the updated at least one sensor performance model (20) based on the updated at least one sensor performance model (20). And e. A model inspection module (50) for analyzing an overall model comprising a combination of the software model (10) and the at least one sensor performance model (20).
