The invention discloses an automatic driving system based on 5G vehicle infrastructure cooperation, and relates to the technical field of vehicle automatic driving, and the system comprises a sensing module, a 5G communication module, a map module, a decision and planning module, and a control module. The sensing module is used for sensing the surrounding environment through a sensor (a radar, a camera or a laser radar) and obtaining key information, and the key information comprises roads, vehicles, pedestrians and obstacles; and the 5G communication module is used for sending the vehicle sensing and control data to a cloud for processing, and receiving an instruction and traffic information from the cloud, so that the automatic driving system obtains the latest traffic information. According to the 5G vehicle-road cooperation system, through real-time map updating and data sharing, automatic driving vehicles can be helped to more accurately perceive and understand the road environment, path planning and decision making are optimized, data exchange and cooperative work are carried out between the modules through the high-speed and low-delay 5G communication technology, and a closed-loop automatic driving system is formed.
