The invention discloses an automatic positioning charging pile and a using method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of charging equipment. Comprising rails; the moving assembly moves on the track and is used for adjusting the displacement of the lifting assembly; the lifting assembly is installed on the moving assembly and used for adjusting the height of the clamping assembly. The clamping assembly is installed below the lifting assembly. The plurality of positioning assemblies are used for guiding and supplying power to the switching assembly; the switching assembly is inserted into the positioning assembly and is used for electrically connecting the positioning assembly with the charging assembly; the charging assembly is installed on the switching assembly and used for recognizing and being connected with a charging port of the vehicle. The clamping assembly clamps the switching assembly, the switching assembly is driven to be inserted into other positioning assemblies through space movement of the lifting assembly and the moving assembly, switching operation is achieved, the problem that a charging pile is idle due to the fact that a vehicle occupies a parking space and does not conduct charging can be effectively solved, and after the charging assembly is inserted into a charging hole of the vehicle, charging is effectively conducted.
