The method comprises the following steps: acquiring a first object and a second object in a target detection area of a vehicle; the target detection area is a detection area in the driving direction of the vehicle, the first object comprises a boundary point of a drivable area of the vehicle, and the second object comprises a target object closest to the vehicle; the target object is detected by various sensors; under the condition that the type of the second object is the preset type, determining the second object as a target obstacle; and under the condition that the type of the second object is not the preset type, determining a target obstacle from the first object and the second object. Therefore, the experience of a user during vehicle braking can be improved.
