The tire monitor includes a sensor that generates tire data. The tire monitor is configured to wake up in response to a low frequency interrupt signal received from a remote source. Upon wake-up, the tire monitor scans a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) channel to establish a BLE connection with the remote source. The tire monitor communicates with a remote source via a BLE connection.
