The invention discloses a sonar underwater positioning method and installation equipment, and belongs to the technical field of sonar underwater positioning, and the method comprises the following steps: S1, carrying out the preparation work before the construction, such as the release of a navigation announcement; s2, performing arrangement optimization design and processing; s3, adopting a surveying vessel to carry out underwater topographic survey; s4, utilizing a BIM technology to assist in layout track design and grid division; s5, correcting plane control parameters by using GPS plane control and geotextile laying ship onboard PTK combined measurement, and establishing an onboard PTK grid plane measurement and control data network to help positioning of the geotextile laying ship; s6, exhibition and arrangement are realized; s7, a winch switch is started, and the row head beam slowly sinks to the riverbed along the sliding plate by means of the dead weight of the row head beam; s8, organizing the production of precast blocks, and binding the precast blocks with the mattress body through tying belts; s9, the side-scan sonar is installed on the ship body through installation equipment, and then imaging and monitoring are conducted through the side-scan sonar in the row body sinking process; and S10, scanning and measuring the laying quality. The method has the effect of reinforcing the stability of the river bottom.
