The invention relates to the technical field of new energy vehicle electric driving, in particular to a differential protection method and device, an electric vehicle and a storage medium, and the method comprises the steps that the output torque of a driving motor in the electric vehicle is obtained; if the output torque is within the preset torque interval, a differential protection function of a differential mechanism and/or a gravitational force control system of the electric vehicle are/is activated, and the execution priority of the gravitational force control system is different from that of the differential protection function; and reducing the output torque of the driving motor by utilizing a differential protection function and/or a gravitation control system so as to reduce the rotating speed difference between half shafts in the differential until the rotating speed difference is smaller than a first preset value. Therefore, the problems that the service life of an electric automobile is shortened and the user experience feeling is poor due to the fact that the differential is prone to exceeding the design boundary due to long-time abrasion in the prior art and fails and the automobile breaks down are solved.
