The invention provides a vehicle formation method and device, a vehicle and a road side unit, and relates to the technical field of Internet of Vehicles. The method comprises the following steps: receiving a formation joining request, and determining whether a first vehicle joins a first vehicle formation according to the formation joining request and second vehicle related information, or determining whether the first vehicle joins the first vehicle formation according to the formation joining request, the second vehicle related information and the number of vehicles in the first vehicle formation. Wherein the formation joining request comprises a first identifier, the first identifier is used for indicating a benefit subject to which the first vehicle belongs, the second vehicle related information comprises a second identifier, the second identifier is used for indicating a benefit subject to which the second vehicle belongs, and the first vehicle formation is a vehicle formation created by the second vehicle. The flexibility of the vehicle formation can be improved.
