The invention provides a traction control system and a rail transit system, the traction control system comprises a plurality of control stations, and each control station comprises at least one motor control unit, at least one converter control unit and a backbone network communication unit; each motor control unit and each converter control unit of each control site are connected with the backbone network communication unit of the same control site, the backbone network communication units of each control site are in communication connection, and each backbone network communication unit comprises packet transport network equipment. Each control station carries out communication by adopting packet transport network equipment as a backbone network communication unit of communication equipment, so that the control station with a relatively long distance can realize communication and long-distance communication control, and can be matched with the current Ethernet technology development and control equipment IP trend; and the wiring complexity of the motor control units and the converter control units of different control sites is effectively simplified.
