The invention discloses a telescopic truss arm and engineering machinery. The telescopic truss arm comprises at least three layers of arm sections which are sequentially arranged in a sleeved mode. The arm section comprises a plurality of arm section faces and a sliding block assembly. Each arm section surface comprises two main chord members, a plurality of web members and a plurality of connecting plates. And the two main chord members are arranged in parallel at intervals. At least one end of the main chord member is provided with a sliding block assembly. And the plurality of web members are arranged between the two main chord members. The connecting plates are connected with the web members and the main chord members. And the connecting plates are thinner than the web members. Due to the plate-shaped characteristic of the connecting plate, a large space is reserved between the adjacent layers of arm sections, and the sliding block assembly is installed in the space, so that the inner layer of arm section slides smoothly, and sleeving of more layers of arm sections is achieved. While the telescopic amplitude of the telescopic truss arm is increased, the sliding smoothness and the bearing capacity of each arm section are guaranteed, the operation applicability of engineering machinery is improved, and transition operation and narrow operation space construction are facilitated.
