The invention relates to the field of engineering machinery, and discloses a telescopic boom and engineering machine.The telescopic boom comprises an outer boom section, an inner boom section and a locking assembly, the locking assembly comprises a wedge-shaped seat, a locking block, a driving mechanism and an elastic piece, and the wedge-shaped seat is fixedly arranged on the outer wall of the inner boom section and provided with a guide slope facing the inner wall of the outer boom section; the guiding inclined plane is obliquely arranged relative to the axis of the inner arm section, the locking block is arranged on the guiding inclined plane and can slide between a locking position and an unlocking position, the locking block abuts against the inner wall of the outer arm section when the locking block is located at the locking position, and a gap is formed between the locking block and the inner wall of the outer arm section when the locking block is located at the unlocking position; the elastic piece is used for providing elastic force enabling the locking piece to tend to slide towards the unlocking position, and the driving mechanism is used for driving the locking block to overcome the elastic force of the elastic piece to slide to the locking position. By arranging the locking assembly, the safety accidents such as breakage of the telescopic boom and the like caused by large impact due to rapid sliding of the inner boom section can be effectively avoided.
