The invention belongs to the technical field of traffic, and particularly relates to an intersection congestion rate evaluation method which comprises the following steps: S1, selecting a target intersection, collecting parking area information of the target intersection, dividing different time periods, and calculating or obtaining congestion state evaluation indexes corresponding to the different time periods from a third-party data source; s2, on the basis of the parking area information of the target road intersection, constructing a congestion rate model of the target road intersection in the passing period; s3, based on the current time period, calculating the congestion rate of the target road intersection in the passing period, and based on the congestion state evaluation index, judging the congestion state of the current target road intersection; s4, realizing visual output of a congestion state prediction result by adopting a programming language; according to the method, the predicted congestion state and the congestion rate of the target road intersection can be visually output, so that subsequent vehicles can conveniently master the congestion state of the target road intersection, the most reasonable route can be selected according to the congestion rate when a plurality of road intersections are blocked, and the road passing efficiency is further improved.
