The invention provides an unmanned aerial vehicle parachute recovery load measuring device and method, the measuring device comprises two recovery umbrellas and a measuring cylinder, the number of the recovery umbrellas is two, and the telescopic measuring cylinder capable of displaying the parachute recovery load is correspondingly installed between parachute cords of the two recovery umbrellas through diamond knots. The rhombic knot is pulled through the two parachute cords so that the measuring cylinder can be compressed, and the corresponding parachute recovery load can be obtained. The device is novel in overall design, convenient to use, wide in application scene, high in reliability, easy to manufacture, low in cost and capable of accurately measuring the actual parachute opening load peak value, does not need to additionally arrange a sensor, does not consume electric energy on a machine, and provides accurate data for machine body structure design and health monitoring.
