The invention discloses a ram-type parafoil and a delayed unfolding method, and relates to the field of ram-type parafoils. The ram parafoil comprises a parafoil body, a fixing box and a plurality of parafoil ropes with the two ends connected with the parafoil body and the fixing box respectively, and further comprises at least one pair of restraining ropes arranged at the two ends of the parafoil body respectively and a plurality of strong ropes which are broken when being pulled, and the bottoms of two restraining air chambers at the two ends of the parafoil body are connected with a plurality of restraining guide rings respectively. The bottom ends of each pair of restraint ropes are connected to the fixing box, the top ends of each pair of restraint ropes sequentially penetrate through the multiple restraint guide rings connected with the two restraint air chambers from inside to outside, and each strong rope is used for fixing a section of loose restraint rope to the two adjacent penetrating restraint guide rings. According to the ram-type parafoil and the delayed unfolding method, the unfolding speed of the ram-type parafoil can be delayed, the area of the ram-type parafoil is gradually expanded, and therefore the parachute opening impact force is reduced, and the strength of used materials and the use cost are reduced.
