An oxide dispersion strengthened refractory base alloy and a method of forming and use thereof are provided. The oxide dispersion strengthened refractory base alloy may include a refractory base alloy including two or more refractory elements and forming a continuous phase, and a rare earth refractory oxide including at least one rare earth element and at least one of the two or more refractory elements. A rare earth refractory oxide forms discrete particles within a continuous phase, the oxide dispersion strengthened refractory base alloy comprising from 0.1% to 5% by volume of the rare earth refractory oxide.
