The invention relates to a vehicle braking control method and device, a medium and equipment. The method comprises the steps that when a vehicle needs to be braked, the current driving mode of the vehicle and the whole vehicle braking demand torque are determined; if the current driving mode of the vehicle is a first driving mode, a driving motor is controlled to conduct regenerative braking, a generator drives an engine to conduct braking and mechanical braking according to the whole vehicle braking demand torque, the first driving mode is a driving mode needing clutch combination, and the second driving mode is a driving mode needing clutch combination. The generator drives the engine to brake, and the generator drives the engine to operate, so that the engine applies brake torque opposite to the current rotation direction of the wheels to the wheels. Therefore, the braking torque is transmitted to the wheel ends of the whole vehicle through the power rotating system of the engine, so that the internal resistance of the whole vehicle is increased, the contribution of the power transmission system to the braking force is increased, the requirement for mechanical braking is reduced, and the risk of overheating of mechanical braking is reduced.
