The invention provides a valve rod and a tire valve which can connect circuits with each other even when a valve cover is detached. The valve rod (10) has a tubular structure, is fixed in a state of penetrating through a valve mounting hole (81H) of a tire wheel (80), and accommodates a valve body (20), and the valve rod (10) is provided with: a pair of internal electrodes (11N, 31N) connected to an internal circuit (91) in a tire (82); a pair of external electrodes (11G, 31G) which are disposed on the outer peripheral surface of a tire outer protrusion (17) protruding outside the tire (82) in the valve stem (10) and which can be connected to an external circuit (96) outside the tire (82); and first and second conductive members (11, 31) that have internal electrodes (11N, 31N) and external electrodes (11G, 31G) and are insulated from each other.
