The invention discloses an underwater robot for marine surveying and mapping, which comprises an underwater robot main body, an illuminating lamp and a camera, the bottom of the underwater robot main body is fixedly connected with a chassis, the chassis is a cavity, the illuminating lamp and the camera are located on the front side of the underwater robot main body, and the interior of the chassis is connected with a front drive assembly and a rear drive assembly. By arranging the rear driving assembly, the rear driving assembly can drive the device to integrally move, the effect of an integral power source is achieved, by arranging the front driving wheels, the integral front side is effectively supported, meanwhile, when the road surface is convex or concave, a strong spring can relieve impact force, and the underwater robot main body can be more stable during surveying and mapping; by arranging the traction assembly, the underwater robot can be more stable when stopped for surveying and mapping, the clamping barrel can make contact with the submerged reef and penetrate through the interior of the submerged reef, the gravity center of the underwater robot body is increased, and the underwater robot body is not prone to flowing along with water flow during surveying and mapping.
