The invention relates to a method (1) for controlling a vehicle (2) having an autonomous vehicle system (5) having an autonomous operating driving system (9) which is designed to perform a dynamic driving task (FA) during a fault-free operation of the autonomous operating driving system (9), the autonomous vehicle system has a redundant driving system (11) which is designed to carry out reduced driving tasks (FAR). The autonomous operating driving system (9) performs trajectory planning and provides a planned trajectory (TR) for a reduced driving task (FAR) to the redundant driving system (11). If a malfunction (E1) of the autonomous operating driving system (9) is detected, the redundant driving system (11) actuates at least one vehicle actuator (7) in order to perform a reduced driving task (FAR) by using the planned trajectory (TR). The invention also relates to an autonomous vehicle system (5) and to a vehicle (2) having an autonomous vehicle system (5).
