The invention relates to the field of urban traffic management, and aims to provide a method and a system for identifying potential traffic bottlenecks in urban roads, and a storage medium. The method for identifying the potential traffic bottleneck of the urban road network comprises the following steps: acquiring basic information of each road section in the urban road network to be identified, calculating a bottleneck judgment coefficient according to the basic information of the road section, judging whether the road section is a potential traffic bottleneck by combining the bottleneck judgment coefficient, and analyzing a congestion cause of the road section. According to the method, the potential traffic bottleneck in the urban road network is identified by using the defined bottleneck discrimination coefficient, the signal control influence of each intersection of the urban road network can be effectively considered, and a method is provided for a traffic management department to find and position the potential traffic bottleneck.
