The invention discloses a vehicle driving energy consumption optimization method and device, and the method comprises the steps: determining a first preset speed, a first coasting minimum speed and a coasting position corresponding to a first target road section, and if the vehicle runs to the coasting position, controlling the vehicle to start coasting until the vehicle speed is reduced to the first coasting minimum speed; the vehicle is accelerated so that the vehicle speed can be increased to the first preset speed from the first coasting minimum speed; the vehicle is controlled to run in a coasting mode, if the vehicle does not reach the target position when the vehicle speed is reduced to the first coasting minimum speed, the step of accelerating the vehicle is executed again, the target position is the first braking point or the starting point of the second target road section, the vehicle is braked at the first braking point, and the vehicle is braked at the second braking point; a vehicle speed of the vehicle at the first braking point is a first coasting minimum speed. Therefore, the average speed of the vehicle on the first target road section is lower than the first preset speed, so that the wind resistance borne by the vehicle is reduced, and the energy consumption of the vehicle is reduced.
