The invention provides a vehicle driving risk assessment method and device, electronic equipment and edge computing equipment, and relates to the field of computers, in particular to the field of automatic driving and intelligent traffic. According to the implementation scheme, in response to an obstacle detected in the driving process of a main vehicle, the first distance between the obstacle and the main vehicle in the longitudinal direction is obtained, and the longitudinal direction is the lane line extending direction of a lane where the main vehicle is located; the speeds of the obstacle and the main vehicle in the longitudinal direction are obtained; determining a safe distance between the main vehicle and the obstacle based on the speeds of the obstacle and the main vehicle in the longitudinal direction, and a preset time headway and relative collision time; and determining whether the obstacle has a safety risk for the host vehicle based on the safety distance and the first distance. The relative collision time represents preset safety time when speed difference exists between the main vehicle and the obstacle, and the time headway represents preset time difference when the main vehicle and the front end of the obstacle pass through the same place.
