A method for habituating a driver of a vehicle in a slippery road surface condition. The method comprises detecting a braking parameter (31) indicative of a driver-proposed vehicle braking demand and/or one or more lateral acceleration parameters (33) indicative of a driver-proposed vehicle lateral acceleration demand. The method further comprises, when the braking parameter (31), the lateral acceleration parameter (33), or a combination of the braking parameter (31) and the lateral acceleration parameter (33): exceeds a threshold value, or if the vehicle is traveling at a low traction tire grip corresponding to a slippery road condition, it is estimated that the vehicle will cause slipping and/or a reduction in braking performance, determining that the braking parameter (31), the lateral acceleration parameter (33), or a combination of the braking parameter (31), the lateral acceleration parameter (33), or the braking parameter (31); a vehicle braking system (32) is controlled to trigger vehicle slip and/or braking performance degradation for simulating driving behavior on wet slipways.
