The invention discloses an octopus-imitating underwater welding robot which comprises a mechanical body, a sensing detection part and a control part. The sensing detection part is connected with the control part through an electric signal, the sensing detection part and the control part are fixed on the mechanical body, and the robot detects cracks on the surface of an underwater target object and welds the cracks; the four tentacle assemblies have the characteristic functions of being bendable, twisting, deforming, winding and the like; the device has the characteristics of high intelligent degree, accurate welding detection, flexible welding operation and the like.
