The invention discloses an elevator fault detection method and device and a computer readable storage medium, and belongs to the technical field of fault detection. The method comprises the steps that original time sequence signals of an elevator to be detected are collected, the original time sequence signals are classified according to a preset period, at least one first classification subsequence and at least one second classification subsequence are obtained, the preset period is determined according to the running state of the elevator, and the preset period is determined according to the running state of the elevator; and performing primary processing on the first classification sub-sequence to obtain a first primary sub-sequence, performing primary processing on the second classification sub-sequence to obtain a second primary sub-sequence, and performing fault detection processing on the first primary sub-sequence and the second primary sub-sequence through a pre-trained elevator fault detection model to obtain a fault detection result of the elevator. According to the method, the fault detection accuracy can be effectively improved, namely, the elevator fault is efficiently detected, so that the elevator operation safety is improved.
