The invention belongs to the field of ships and maritime work, and particularly relates to a simple chain ring overload protection device which comprises a chain ring, the chain ring comprises two arc-shaped parts, two first straight body connecting parts and a straight body part, and the two ends of the straight body part are integrally formed with the two arc-shaped parts respectively. One end of each arc-shaped part is integrally formed with the corresponding first straight body connecting part, an overload protection part is arranged between the two first straight body connecting parts, the chain ring is simple and practical, the needed residual strength and sectional area can be calculated according to needs, and then the purpose of overload protection can be achieved by machining the chain ring to the corresponding sectional area. And on the other hand, when the non-welded chain ring serves as the balance weight chain, compared with a common balance weight chain, the processes of flash welding and weld joint nondestructive testing are omitted, the cost is greatly reduced, and the practicability is remarkably improved.
