The invention relates to a traffic control area delay calculation method, in particular to a traffic control area delay calculation method during a road construction period. The invention aims to solve the problem that the traffic efficiency is reduced due to the fact that time delay and distance delay caused by detouring are not considered because the calculation of the delay aspect of the existing road construction control area is mainly based on the perspective of operation area cost optimization. The method comprises the following steps: step 1, acquiring traffic flow operation data including time data and spatial data; 2, drawing a running space-time diagram of each vehicle in the traffic construction control area and an average running space-time diagram of n vehicles based on the step 1; 3, calculating the running speed of the vehicle based on the step 2; 4, calculating the delay time of the construction control area based on the step 3; and 5, calculating the delay distance based on the step 4. The method is applied to the fields of road engineering and traffic engineering.
